Planning a graduation open house in the near future? It can certainly be a big undertaking... Here is a checklist and some helpful tips to honor that special graduate!

1.) Compile a guest list (with addresses). Ask the graduate for a list.

2.) Decide on a budget.

3.) Decide on a location for the party.

4.) Decide on what type of food to serve.

5.) Order or create invitations.

6.) Order food.

7.) Purchase supplies for decorations. (don't forget the film!), as well as, plates, cups, plastic silverware, etc...

8.) Send out invitations.

9.) Order cake

10.) Clean and decorate.

TIPS:

**You could also choose a theme for the party.. consider what the graduate would like, or how it coincides with his/her future (college theme, etc..).

**Make a scrapbook for the graduate. Start the book with baby pictures and all through school, with photos of friends and family, as well as, sports, awards, and activities. On the last pages, include what the graduate's aspirations and college plans are. Display on the gift table for all to enjoy.

TIPS: **Order personalized partyware or a banner to show the guest of honor how proud you are! You can even get personalized m&m's now! Here is a link to check it out: http://shop.mms.com/customized/printing/...

**Hire a fortune teller or caricature artist for a unique and fun activity.

**Decorate a box with an opening for cards that the grad will receive.

**Rent chairs and cafeteria-style tables from your local school or banquet hall.

**Rent a tent with mesh walls to keep out of the sun or away from insects.

**Line a large wheelbarrow with plastic and fill with ice for bottled drinks.

**If hosting your party outdoors, decorate using flowers...pots, planters, and hanging planters are beautiful and you can enjoy them for the rest of the summer too!
